The Sultanate of Oman, as it is officially known, is an Arab state on the southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It is bordered by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the northwest, Saudi Arabia to the west and Yemen to the southwest.
Oman has a hot climate and very little rainfall. Annual rainfall in Muscat averages 100 mm (3.9 in), falling mostly in January. Thankfully, it is less humid than some of the locations we have visited. We expect to spend most of our time in or near Muscat, the capital city of Oman. |
